DC1 has the facility for four autonomous data halls; each hall has a cooling delivery 1400W/m² (1.49MW), which can be upgraded to 1600W/m² (1.7MW). The cooling is provided independent from the other halls via three air-cooled free cooling chillers configured on an N+1 basis. Two chilled water circuits emanating from the chillers will deliver chilled water to CRAC units on a N+2 basis, which are positioned in a dedicated CRAC corridor. Cool air is then delivered to the data hall via the raised accessible floor. Each CRAC will come complete with an EC fan and integral transfer switch to facilitate supplies from the diverse critical output switchboards. Chilled water connections will also be facilitated for direct cooled equipment. The mechanical equipment will be controlled via BMS system provided on a per data hall basis. Cooling from this system will also be provided to the UPS panel and battery rooms along with the internal substation.
The support building office accommodation is naturally ventilated.
