The data centre campus is provided with two spatially diverse utility substations capable of delivering 40MVA each, these substations are fed from two super-grid transformers (275/11kV). DC1 has the facility for four autonomous data halls, each will be provided with four 11kV supplies to provide an Active and Reserve system configuration for both critical and essential supplies, thus offering a Tier III solution. These supplies will be directly metered by an energy service provider.
The base power provision per hall is 1400W/m² (1.49MW), which can be upgraded to 1600W/m² (1.7MW). This power density is delivered through robust proven electrical plant by way of static UPS and emergency standby generators. This solution can be exchanged for DRUPS if desired. All the main electrical plant will be provided on a N+1 basis. The 800kVA static UPS modules will be configured in parallel and offer 10 minutes battery autonomy. The fully rated emergency diesel standby generators are dedicated to the hall and come with 48 hours fuel storage. CRAC units will be supported from the critical UPS or as an option can be supported from a dedicated UPS.
The Landlords power system for the building is fully independent from the data halls and is provided with a fully rated emergency standby generator and 130m² of photovoltaic cells.
